GETTING STARTED WITH AN INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER
Start by identifying the currency you hold, the currency required by the recipient and the approximate amount you intend to send. Think about the purpose of the payment and when the funds need to arrive. An initial enquiry allows the team to discuss your requirements; submitting a website form does not by itself approve an account, reserve a rate or complete a payment.
COMPARE THE COMPLETE PAYMENT COST
An attractive headline rate does not tell you everything about a transfer. Ask about the total amount leaving your account, the amount expected to reach the recipient and any transfer or receiving-bank charges. Our currency transfer comparison guidance explains what to consider. Use the same amount, currencies and proposed date when comparing quotations so the information is meaningful.
PREPARE FOR PROVIDER CHECKS
A payment provider may need to verify your identity, the purpose of the transfer and the source of the funds. Requirements depend on the provider and the payment. Do not send passwords or banking credentials through an enquiry form. Wait for the provider's secure document process and review its terms before supplying personal documents or committing funds.
PLAN FOR YOUR PAYMENT DEADLINE
Bank holidays, cut-off times, compliance checks and recipient-bank processing can affect delivery. Do not assume a transfer will arrive on the same day. Check the beneficiary's instructions carefully, especially if bank details have recently changed. If you have questions about the next step, contact the team about your transfer. You can review our dated reference rates for background, but only a provider can confirm a rate you can transact at.
