The rates displayed here are daily reference indications. Check the date shown alongside the data before using an estimate. A reference rate helps you understand the relationship between two currencies, but it is not an offer to exchange money. Your actual rate and the final amount received must be confirmed by the provider handling the payment.

READ A CURRENCY PAIR

In a pair such as GBP/EUR, the first currency is the base currency and the second is the currency being quoted. A rate of 1.20 would mean one pound corresponds to 1.20 euros before transaction costs. This example explains the notation; it is not a current quotation. If the quoted number increases, one unit of the base currency buys more units of the second currency.

DISTINGUISH ESTIMATES FROM QUOTES

Our currency converter provides an illustration using the available reference data. Banks and specialist providers may apply different margins, transfer fees or payment-route charges. An estimated bank comparison based on a fixed margin is not proof of what your bank would charge. Compare payment-specific quotations and ask which fees are included in the amount shown.
